I. Objectives
Through a paragraph, the students in Grade IV with 80% accuracy are expected to:
a. identify the kinds of sentences;
b. share their christmas vacation together with their family using the kinds of sentences;
c. construct their own kind of sentences based on their experience.

III. Procedure
Pretest in Spelling
The Teacher will say the word first; use it in a sentence; say the word again.
1.
The picture is tangible.
2.
The beauty of the nature today is exquisite.
3.
Our country is suffering from great corruption.
4.
The father descended from heaven to save us all.
5.
Ana is experiencing fatigue everyday because of her work.
6.
Everybody is celebrating the great jubilee.
7.
The terrorists capitulate to the army.
8.
The porch is clear and safe for everybody.
9.
The whirlwind affect badly the people in the town.
10.
The speech of the president is commendable.
A.Review
The Teacher will post sample sentences and then the students will circle the subject and underline the predicate.
1.
Richard Velez is a famous basketball player.
2.
Ana loves playing chess.
3.
Rose is lovely.
4.
Understanding is important.
5.
Dino plays basketball everyday.
1. Lesson Proper
The Teacher will ask the following questions:
1.
Have you tried getting inside a movie house together with your family?
2.
What movie have you seen together?
2. Presentation through a paragraph:
The teacher will post in front of the class the paragraph entitled “ Movie Trip” and will let the students read it by group.
3. Comprehension check:
1. What is Richard Velez?
2. Why did he and his family go to the remote place?
4. Interaction
The Teacher will ask the students the following questions:
1. Why is it important for the students the family to have time together?
2. Where do you and your family usually spend your leisure time?
5. Exploring Language
The Teacher will ask again the students the following question
· What were the underlined sentences in the story?
1. What should I do?
2. Go and say hello.
3. We don’t know you from Adam.
4. Richard Velez is a famous basketball player.
· The Teacher will ask:
1. What have you observed in the first sentence?
2. Does this express a question to be answered? ( yes)
3. How is the sentence ended/ ( question mark )
4. What have you observed in the second sentence?
5.What does it express? ( command or a request )
6.What is at the end of that sentence? ( period or exclamation point depending on how forceful the command is )
7. What have you observed in the third sentence?
8. Does this express a strong emotion? ( Yes )
9. How does the kind of sentence ended? What is at the end of the sentence? ( ! )
10. How about sentence number four? What does this express? ( statement )
11. What is at the end of this kind of sentence? ( period )
* The Teacher will now lead the students to the topic and explain it further.
- Based on sentence number 1, what is this kind of sentence that ask a question and ends with a question mark? And it’s interrogate, what is this? ( Interrogative Sentence )
- Based on the second sentence, what is this kind of sentence that express a command or request and ends with a period or exclamation point depending on how forceful the command is ? ( Imperative Sentence )
- Based on the third sentence, what is this kind of sentence that express a strong emotion and ends with an exclamation mark? ( Exclamatory Sentence)
- On the fourth sentence as an example, what is that kind of sentence that express statement, opinion, information or a point? ( Declarative Sentence)
Generalization:
The Teacher will ask the following question
·What do we call all these four sentences that we have described one by one?

The Teacher will present a chart showing the kinds of sentences.
1. Interrogative Sentence- asks a question, used a question mark to end such sentence.
Example : Richard is standing.
2. Declarative Sentence- used to make a statement. It has a subject and a predicate. It makes a point, asserts an opinion or present information.
Example: Rose love to eat chocolate.
3. Imperative Sentence- gives a direct commands to someone. It can either end with a period with an exclamation point depending on how forceful the command is.
Example: Everybody sit down.
4. Exclamatory Sentence- express a strong emotion. It ends with an exclamation mark (!)
7. Guided Practice
The Teacher will assign each group to give two sentences in each kind that they will have.
· Group 1 ( Declarative Sentence )
· Group 2 ( Imperative Sentence )
· Group 3 ( Interrogative Sentence )
· Group 4 ( Exclamatory Sentence )
· Group 5 ( Declarative Sentnce )
7. Communication
The Teacher will let each group to select it’s representative to share his/her Christmas vacation with his/her family using the kind of sentences.
IV. Evaluation:
Identify the following sentences . Write D if it is Declarative sentence, IN for Interrogative Sentence, IM for Imperative Sentence and E for Exclamatory.
